Clarity for a Room You Are Ready to Change

A quiet session spent listening to what you want your room to feel like — and helping you find a direction that feels genuinely yours.

What This Service Offers

A plan you can act on, in your own time

Sometimes the hardest part of refreshing a room is simply knowing where to begin. There are too many options, too many variables, and not enough confidence that what you choose will hold together once it is all in place.

This session is designed to resolve that. We listen first, ask a few considered questions, look carefully at what you already have, and then offer guidance in writing — a set of recommendations you can keep, revisit, and act on whenever you feel ready. Nothing is decided on the day.

~90

minutes for a typical session, at your home or via a video call

Written

recommendations provided after the session for you to revisit at leisure

No

Yours

to use however suits you — as a starting point, a checklist, or simply a second opinion

Something You May Recognise

When a room feels like it needs something, but you are not sure what

Too many options, not enough confidence

Fabric shops, sample books, online galleries — the volume of choice can make a decision feel harder rather than easier. A clear recommendation cuts through that.

New home, unfamiliar proportions

Moving into a space means learning its light and proportions from scratch. Choosing textiles before you have properly understood a room can leave you with pieces that do not quite fit the character.

Existing pieces that no longer hold together

Rooms accumulate things over time and can gradually lose coherence. Sometimes a small change to the textiles is enough to make everything feel considered again.

Our Approach

Listening first, suggesting second

We begin by asking what you would like the room to feel like — not what you want it to look like. Those are different questions, and the first one is usually more useful. From there, we look at what you already have: the floor, the walls, the furniture, the way light moves through the space.

We then talk through a direction — a palette approach, a fabric type, a heading style, a layering strategy if relevant. We bring sample references so the discussion stays grounded in something tangible rather than abstract.

After the session, we send you a written set of recommendations. This is yours to keep and use however you find helpful — as a brief for ordering elsewhere, as the basis for working with us on the next stage, or simply as a record of a useful conversation.

A listening-led session

We spend the first part of the session understanding what you are working with and what you are hoping for, before offering any suggestions.

Palette and fabric guidance

We suggest colours, textures, and fabric weights that would work in your space, explained in terms of what they will actually do for the room.

Layering and proportion advice

Whether to combine a blind and a curtain, how high to hang a pole, what drop length suits the room — practical decisions handled with care.

Written recommendations to keep

A clear document summarising what we discussed and what we suggest — sent after the session so you can return to it when you are ready to act.

No pressure to proceed

The consultation stands on its own. Whether or not you go on to work with us further is entirely your decision, made in your own time.

What It Feels Like

An unhurried conversation about your room

1

You get in touch

A short message about the room you have in mind. We will arrange a session at a convenient time — at your home or via video call.

2

We meet and listen

The session opens with questions about how you use the room, what you want to change, and what already feels right. We bring sample references to keep the conversation grounded.

3

We discuss a direction

We talk through palette, fabric, proportion, and any layering options. Nothing is decided during the session — it is a conversation, not a commitment.

4

We send your recommendations

Within a day or two, you receive a written summary of our suggestions. Clear, practical, and yours to act on whenever the time feels right.

How We Approach This Work

What makes a consultation genuinely useful

The value of an outside eye

When you live in a room, it can be difficult to see it clearly. Pieces accumulate, small compromises become permanent, and the room ends up shaped more by habit than by intention. A conversation with someone who is seeing it fresh — and who works with fabric and proportion every day — often surfaces things that were hard to articulate before.

We are not trying to redesign your room. We are helping you understand it well enough to make changes that feel right to you, and to feel confident about those changes before you invest in them.

What the written recommendations cover

Palette direction — specific colour families and tonal relationships that would work with what you already have in the room

Fabric character — whether the room calls for something with texture and weight, something sheer and light-diffusing, or a combination of both

Heading and hanging style — how a curtain is gathered and hung affects how much space it occupies visually; this often matters more than the fabric itself

Practical notes — anything specific to your situation, such as managing a west-facing window in a home office, or adding privacy to a ground-floor room

Our Commitment

A session that respects your time and your pace

We do not ask you to make decisions during the session, and we do not follow up with sales calls afterwards. The recommendations are yours to use however and whenever you choose.

No obligation attached

The consultation is complete in itself. You are welcome to take the recommendations and work with whomever you prefer, or simply sit with them until the time feels right.

Written summary provided

We send clear written recommendations after the session. You will not need to remember everything we discussed, and you can share the document with anyone else involved in the decision.

Follow-up questions welcome

If you read the recommendations and something raises a question, you are welcome to get in touch. A short clarification should not require a second booking.

Getting Started

How a session comes together

There is almost nothing to prepare on your side. Here is what the process looks like:

1

Tell us a little about the room

A sentence or two about which room you have in mind and what feels unsettled about it. That is enough for us to come prepared.

2

We confirm a time and format

We reply within one working day with a few options. In-home sessions work well for most projects; video calls are an equally considered alternative.

3

The session takes about ninety minutes

We listen, look, ask questions, and work through the possibilities together. There is no expectation that you will have answers ready — the session is partly for finding them.

4

Your recommendations arrive shortly after

We send the written document within one to two working days. From there, the timing of any next step is entirely yours to decide.
